What does Thor have to do?

Thor. The main archenemies of Thor were the Frost giants. Beyond that was the world serpend Jornumgand, son of Loki and the giantess Angrboda, who Thor will fight at Ragnarok and while he will kill the beast, he will himself die from the venom it spews.

As for Odin. He doesn't really have a specific main adversary. It is written that at Ragnarok he will be devoured by Fenrir the wolf, brother of Jormungand and child of Loki and the Giantess Angrboda.

Damn, not very many good answers (except for the one directly above me by Darkvitki). Wikipedia is not a good source for information about Asatru (Old Norse Religion). In the Lore, Loki was Odin's blood brother and he's Thor traveling companion. He hardly qualifies as either Thor or Odin's arch-enemy. (Now Heimdall and Loki ARE enemies... but that's another story.) And the Norse Gods have no equivalent in any other pantheon! Zeus and Thor are nothing alike!

The frost giants are Thor's enemies through out the Lore. He is always battling them and defending both the Gods and humankind against them. Thor also battles the World Serpent who he smashes during Ragnarök but who in turn kills him with his venom.

Odin doesn't really have an arch-enemy. The closest would be Fenrir, the wolf. But I say that only because during Ragnarok he swallows Odin whole.

Norse or Scandinavian mythology comprises the pre-Christian religion, beliefs and legends of the Scandinavian people, including those who settled on Iceland, where the written sources for Norse mythology were assembled. Norse mythology is the best-preserved version of the older common Germanic mythology, which also includes the closely related Anglo-Saxon mythology. Germanic mythology, in its turn, had evolved from an earlier Indo-European mythology.
The mythology was orally transmitted in the form of poetry and our knowledge about it is mainly based on the Eddas and other medieval texts written down during and after Christianisation.

There are also several runestones and image stones that depict scenes from Norse mythology, such as Thor's fishing trip, scenes from the Völsunga saga, Odin and Sleipnir, Odin being devoured by Fenrir, and one of the surviving stones from the Hunnestad Monument appears to show Hyrrokkin riding to Baldr's funeral
In the Völuspá, Odin, the chief god of the Norse pantheon, has conjured up the spirit of a dead Völva (Shaman or sybil) and commanded this spirit to reveal the past and the future. She is reluctant: "What do you ask of me? Why tempt me?"; but since she is already dead, she shows no fear of Odin, and continually taunts him: "Well, would you know more?" But Odin insists: if he is to fulfil his function as king of the gods, he must possess all knowledge. Once the sybil has revealed the secrets of past and future, she falls back into oblivion: "I sink now".

The archenemy was Loki:
Loki: The trickster god. His tricks peaked when he killed Baldr and didn't weep. Nence, Odin locked him in the center of the earth with a poisonous serpent dripping poison on him, but Loki's wife held a bowl over his face. Of course, she had to dish it out, and during that break Loki's face is poisoned and he screams and shakes the earth, causing an earthquake.

i have a slight interest in norse mythology and the "bad guy" to thor would have to be Geirröd who was a giant. i think loki could be considered thor and odin's rival as well, but he mostly caused small mischief between the gods.

Thor is the Norse equivalent of Zeus and I'm not an expert on Norse mythology but I think his enemy was Loki.
