I cannot imagine why you want to heat a cat scratching post! Ultimately it won't be good for the cat. Seriously, cat claws shredding a heating pad FULL of electric wires? Don't do it.

You do know that heating a cat post is dangerous ???
Electricity and wood/metal/carpet do not mix...plus the poor cat.
You could set fire to something or fry the cat....

Just wrap one or two electric heat tapes intended for plumbing around and around it and plug them in. Available in any self respecting hardware store.

Cutting a heating pad would be a bad idea becuse they have electric wires in them.

sure you can cut the heating blanket, but dont plug it in when the kitty is on it, you will fry the cat

well you need to make sure to clear the wires, they run all threw the heating pad, then you can cut it any way you want it
