The PBS show Big Big World?

Question

In the show "It's A Big Big World" there is a song called "Try To Touch The Sky" I know I have heard it before (someplace else) and can't figure out where. If anyone knows I would appreciate any info - Thank you

If you set a goal and try to achieve it

even if people laugh and make jokes

you smile and hold your head up high

and do what you do for you

and keep trying to touch the sky!



Some days when you want to give up

think back to the time when you achieved that little goal

and how over the years you have watched it grow



Someday I know I will touch the sky

I will do it for me

to let me know that I can do anything if I try

and this is why I want to touch the sky.

A chill hit all our hearts
The Bear began to roar-
Scanning the skies
Looking overhead
The moon and the stars
And all of space was Red

Black faced troglodytes
Sinking far from space
Coal death in their lungs
Their sky a black, rock face

Backs bent by their low, low sky
