like this guy who sits next to me in class, and we are friends. but lately, he kept asking me these questions: "Who do you think I should ask out?" and then I'd say, "I don't know." and then he said, "I think I might ask Analia out" and then today he said, "Who should I ask out now? Analia's taken" and then I said, "Hmmmmm....Um, how about Samira?" and then he said "EWW. I WENT OUT WITH HER LAST YEAR." and then he said, "I think I might ask out Samantha"......

On Valentine's Day, he said this as a joke.... (or was he serioius?)

I forgot how we got on this subject, but he was like, "You like me, don't you?" and I'm like, "Ew. No." and then he's like, "C'mon, Admit it." and I'm like, "No, you're short." cuz he's shorter than me. I felt horrible once I said that.... cuz I like him and I don't want to push him away. How do I know if he likes me or not?
I know you don't know all these people, but try your best to follow along. :)

I don't know. Usually if a guy likes you I don't think he would be talking about other girls, because that might ruin his chances if you think he is into everyone else. But you are young, and maybe it is his own way of flirting with you. Maybe he is testing you to see if you get jealous when he mentions other girls to see if you like him or not because he is scared of flat out rejection, maybe he is just testing the waters. However, maybe he is mentioning other girls to let you know simply that he is interested in other girls, and just wants your opinion, as a friend. It's hard to say really. Go with your instincts, do you think he is just messing and likes you or is trying to show you he is interested in other people? Tell him you were just kidding about the short thing, and you think he is cute. If you like him tell him.

I think that he likes you, but he is wanting some kind of sign that you like him back before he makes the move and feels stupid. Just play along with him, and either ask him out or go with it until he feels comfortable enough asking you out.

Just tell him to ask you out....he'll like you then obviously if he sits next to you and he talks to you and gets your advice on girls then he has got something for you....you are wasting time...just tell him that you like him and obviously you dont have a problem with him being short cuz you said you like him just make sure you tell him that you dont mind him being short and that you didnt mean what you said....good luck

So you say you like him. Now does that mean you have a crush on him or you like him as a friend? Why don't you be his friend and that way you could have a nice relationship with him and you don't have to be serious and possibly get hurt.

Sounds like freshman love to me. He wanted to see how you'd react to his liking other girls. And when you didn't react negatively, he wanted you to joke seriously and get you to say you liked him, so he could ask you out in the process of the serious joke. And then you'd be going out as the product of a playful joke, but you'd both like it and want to stay that way.
