i went to the dr yesterday and the Dr said she wanted to look behind my eyes and used this special light thingamabober. she was doing it for quite some time and i got curious..what exactly was she looking at and for????

I have to get this done very frequently due to my macular degeneration. Very common and good practice. If your optometrist doesn't do this for you once every two years... see someone else!

Believe it or not, the doctor can look through your pupil, through the back of your eye and at the base of your brain and brain stem. I asked by eye doctor exactly what he was looking at and he told me he was looking at my retina and the back of my eyeball and also looking at the base of my brain and my brain stem.
