Maria.....I'm not 100% sure but most tattoo artists will not tattoo the bottoms of feet. For one thing the skin on the bottoms of your feet is so thick that they have to push the ink in hard and it hurts... and then you are going to have to walk around on it until it heals.
I am doing 8 to 9 hours under the needles next month so I've been doing my research.....here is the best article I could find on pain as charted by body location

I hope this helps

Well how much a tattoo hurts really depends on the person. I have 10 tattoos, one on the top of my foot. It hurt the most out of all of my tattoos - I dont think I will get one on my other foot. My tattoo is quite big though - probably 4inches by 2 inches.
Basically tattoos aren't meant to feel nice - they all hurt to some extent. It is all part of the fun of getting a tattoo!

I have three tattoos and the one that hurt the most, was by far, the one on top of my foot. I'm not trying to scare you, or change your mind about doing it, just giving you a heads up.
I totally love my tattoo, but I did have to "earn it," as some people say!
Now as far as the bottom of the foot goes, 99.9% of tattoo parlors are not going to let you do a tattoo there. (The 0.01% would be people who own a tattoo shop from their garage and have no idea what they are doing.)
The bottom of your foot is a really thick area of skin and it is CONSTANTLY shedding old skin to replace it with new skin. Meaning if you got a tattoo there, in a couple of months it would be gone. The skin would have "pushed" the ink out and you would be left with brand new, healthy, pink cells, with no trace of any tattoo. Or maybe blotches of ink here and there, but you would not be able to tell what the heck it was.
Basically, if you go to a reputable tattoo place they are not going to let you tattoo yourself there.
Go for the top of the foot!

How much a tattoo will hurt is relative you your own pain tollerance. But generally speaking, tattoos over areas of skin that have little padding (fat, muscle) are the most sensitive. Anything below the ankle, wrist, on the rib cage, and above the neck are all very sensitive areas. Also, any area that is not usually open to touch, protected areas, like under the arms, inner thighs, etc, are also tender areas where tattoos are relatively more painful.

IT all depends on you. like you i had to ask a million people their opinon. everyone said it would hurt and i was really scared to do it. BUT if it is something you really want you will do it. it doesn't really hurt, well it least not as much as people tell you it will i have one on my foot and it was more uncomfortalbe in some spots then it was pianful.and it was worth it and i absolutely love and i getting one on the other side. good luck and you'll be fine!!!

Sorry to say but your going to have a hard time finding a PROFESSIONAL to do a tat on the bottom of your foot. The skin is to thick and they would really have to push the needles in really far to get the ink to stick! It would probably hurt A LOT because of that. I have one on the top of my foot that hurt worst out of all my tat's but totally worth it. Just I guess ask around at different shops and see what they will do for you!

It would hurt just as much as getting a tattoo anywhere on your body would hurt. I am thinking that it would take longer to heal there because of wearing socks and shoes it won't get the proper air it needs to heal.

that's a pretty sensitive area for a Tatt'. I'd let them run the needle around the area a little without any ink, before leting them start.Good luck !

very bad too many bones don't do it. not to mention very hard to tattoo because of the skin and extremely unattractive to anyone with a brain.
