we need to buy granite countertop for our kitchen ,we can travel from austin down to laredo to find the right price ,we are short on budget. please help.

1- measure the lenght of your counters
2-buy prefabricated granite slabs that come prefinished and in lenghts of 108in.
3-transport them to your home (get 2 friends to help unload them)
4-buy diamond blade at Home Depot for your skillsaw
5-cut pieces to lenght
6-set pieces on counter
7-fill seams with either caulk, epoxy, acrylic, or polyester resin
8-cut rectangular cuts for sink and cooktop
9-buy your friends a beer!

If you know of a realtor in your area - ask them who they use/recommend for granite. Most installers use several different sources and maybe one of them will know of discount place.

go with square tiles some as cheap as 2.50 sq ft

I would try home -depot they have a pretty good selection and cheap.
You may even be able to order online.
