Because humans should know better.

ANIMALS DO NOT HAVE SOULS.

Humans have souls. But, just because you're a homosexual doesn't mean you're a sinner. If you act on your homosexuality on another person, that is when it's a sin. Animals can have sex with whoever they want. They don't have souls, so it doesn't matter. When animals die, they're just dead. Sorry animal lovers. It's only the truth.

Oh brother!! There are "no" homosexual animals... they don't think! Mankind is the only animal that has the distinct ability to think! So why would a perfectly good man, with good cognitive skills and a good brain even consider homosexual activities? I'll tell you why - because he's sick, demented and misdirected in his own perverted lust for another man! (Obviously the same is true for women who lust after women!).
Mankind knows right from wrong in his heart, so there's no excuse for this abominable activity!

I have heard of several species in the animal world that are homosexual, as a way of feeling protected in a group.

Humans differ too drastically to be compared with animals (we are very similar but not completely, and not a lot in this situation). Humans have consciences and animals do not. Therefore they cannot be held responsible for doing any wrong. However we have consciences and can be held responsible. If the Church deems it wrong to be homosexual (yet they do not completely. People can be homosexual, they just can't have sexual intercourse) then our consciences stop us because we know it is wrong. It doesn't stop animals.

Some people will argue that animals arent intelligent and don't know. Personally tho Animal or Human I say to each their own just spare me the details.

sorry but your question is like asking "If animals can kill each other, why can't humans?" Think of why humans can't kill each other (well they can but it has strong moral conflicts),and you'll get the same reasons as to why humans "can't" be homosexual. I'm not saying whether I agree or not about people being homosexual as I have my own opinion, I'm just saying this is a wrong way to ask the question, as you're basically just downgrading homosexuals as lower species =\

They can. For those who argue otherwise, they do so out of bigotry, out of an arbitrary interpretation of scripture.

Homosexuality is part of the normal range of human experience.

To the person who states the old and ignorant comparison of canibalism, that also exists in human nature. It is counter-productive toward society, where homosexuality is not.

well not all animals are homosexual...rabbits arent for example. they are totally straight. the only abnormality they have is they mate with their relatives.

humans can do more that animals cant, they would have to live with themselves and it is found to be weird to not do what God intended or what we deem as society as normal. the animals wouldnt care because they do things based on hormones basically and instinct..no conscience. instinct does not tell them what is right and what is wrong, its more like a feeling and not a thought. it tells them whats going on not what to do mostly.

I have 4 dogs, and 2 of my female dogs do this. It is a dominance behavior. There's always an alpha dog expressing dominant behavior like this over another dog. It's not due to some "sexual lust". Ask any vet and dog behaviorist, they will all tell you the same thing. My advice to you is ditch your internet fables, and find something else to "justify" your unnatural sexual lusts on.

its probably because humans see homosexuality as a moral issue. animals dont really care about morality, yes animals are smart but i dont think they have the mental capacity to figure out morality.
