God did not write the Holy Bible, Jesus's followers did, and MANY people edited it after that. Why should we listen to them? They are not god, but followers of Jesus.
Oh wait, i know, i know, God inspired spiritual men to write it through with the divinene presence, correct?
If god has the power to inspire man, why inspire just a few men to write it, why not inspire the whole world?

im going to say it once more...
if god inspired a few men to write it, why not inspire all of man, not to write it, but to know it. it is not logical from the perspective of a higher being. IF GOD CAN INSPIRE A FEW MEN, WHY WONT HE INSPIRE EVERYONE?
Im sorry christians, the bible was created just for a church to have power. I do believe Jesus was real, but he diddnt leave any writing behind. I also believe it is possible that a newly found church would use the name of Jesus to validify their beliefs, and raise their power

Hello J.J.
The Bible is NOT the word of God. However, it is the word of men, some of which claimed to be inspired by God, or that some scholars considered that were inspired by God.
Jesus followers did not write the Bible either. They wrote Epistles (Letters), to serve as guide and encourage other followers to live according to some standards.
After Jesus alleged ascension to heaven in a cloud, many of Jesus followers wrote many Epistles, and by the 3rd Century there were at least 19 Gospels (including the 4 Gospels of the New Testament).
The Roman Emperor Constantine, and a group of pseudo Christians created the Roman Catholic Church and made it the official religion of the Roman Empire. But even after the year 1400, people were still reading and living according the many scriptures that the Roman Catholic Church did not consider as Canonical. That's why you find just a modest amount of books in the New Testament. Those books not included in the Bible are known as the Apocrypha.

Hello,
All of the Gospel's in the Bible are direct words of God. Other writings are words from God to the writer. The Bible is the best selling book, each and every year!
God does inspire people through His teachings in the Bible.
And He did inspire the whole world, when He died on that Cross, for you, for me, for all.
Give reading The Bible a try..it's a real page turner!

Faith. Anyone who has faith believes the bible is the inspired word of God. If you truly knew ANYTHING about the bible, you would understand man could not have possibly written it.
Many individual books read as individuals, or as one that flows together. There are no contradictions. It is perfect. The chances of all those men writting it to "trick" people and never telling a single soul? HIGHLY unlikley that the word nevr got out! People have big mouths.
I could go on and on about this, but Ill save you, since I am sure you really dont want a good answer, your being the devils advocate...

It's God's word because he told other men to write it, and what to write. God doesn't inspire the whole world because he want's to see who will come to him just by faith. And there is inspiration all around us...just not everyone realizes it's there. God want's to see who of us will come to him, without a direct command. And who am I to tell what God does...and who are you to question it?

It depends alot on the communication you have with God. the men who wrote the Bible were in constant communication with God. They knew how God's character was in and out They were men of great faith. And now Lets just say for example your mom or dad or close family had some kind of cancer or hidden disease and only they know it.
how will you ever know that they have that if you are not in close communication with them??
also the communication you have with God says alot about the realtionship with Him.
i hope i was clear with the answer i gave you if i was not then just say so and ill be glad to help...

There were no "Jesus" followers in the Old Testament days! And God would inspire the whole world, "IF" they would only listen! He chose to speak through only those few men who listened to Him.
And Jesus "is" God. He said "to have seen me is to have seen the Father."
(I really wish people like you would get your facts straight before espousing your ignorance on public forums such as this!)

If God told you what to write, would you do?
Before God could inspire a person to write His words, they would have to be mature enough to understand it and willing to write it. As most people are not, God would not use them to write it.
Besides, it already runs into 66 books and over 3.6 million words. Do you really want God to inspire hundreds of thousands of more people to add to it?
He inspired as only many as he needed to write it.

The Bible is the word of God because he led them to write in it.
just as the language of toungs is a language of God, spoken through us...does that mean its not true.
ignore the bible at your own will, but deep down you KNOW whats right. you know you should be headed to church on sunday, not hitting that snooze button.
remember things eventually catch up.
