Although i almost never use it i have a question about Magick?

Question

Yeah you heard me I have only cast three spells before in my entire life.

Well i was wondering, how does Ásatrú Magick differ from other pagan religions forms of magick?
and can you please give me a link to a site that can teach me the basics of Ásatrú magick? Please no divination sites (i would like to keep the future a secret)

Darkvitki has the best answer and there’s no way I could answer you better. He is also correct about the websites, most of them do not provide good information (and one of them that eriayasha posted I would definitely not trust because it’s a link to a hate-site, so be careful). Not all Asatruars use magic anyways, some do and some don’t; it's not like with Wicca were the main focus is on magic rituals. Basically, as Darkvitki said, Runes and Seidhr are the two primary forms of magic. Studying the runes can take a long time and unfortunately some people think their only use is for divination which isn't true.

First of all, we Ásatrú don't use that ridiculous "k" at the end of the word. Ásatrú magic focuses on two main areas, Runes and Seidhr. Runes are, of the ancient symbols use originally in magic and later in writing and communication.

Seidhr is basically a form of shamanism. While one can use it o gain information and knowledge of the future it has other uses as well, including journeying into the various realms of the World Tree of knowledge of power.

As far as links, well...I haven't seen any that were of any real use by themselves. One either had to use them in conjunction with other current activities or one has to have a considerable amount of pre-existing magical knowledge and training in order to make any use of them. They were incomplete at best.

I have been a Vitki (A Norse magacian) for almost 17 years and I could be persuaded to share some of the information I have on the subject, under the right circumstances.
