Here's a book you'd like: "Why God Won't Go Away" by Andrew Newberg. It's a look at the neuro-biology of belief

The problem here is that you think that you know there is no God. You may BELIEVE there is no God, but you can't prove it. And no, no one can prove tere is a God either.
Every culture and society has developed some form of worship. If there is a God, it's obvious why. If there is no God, there are still lots of things out there that we don't understand and that are, well, greater than us. To primitive little stone-aged minds, anything greater than yourself that you can't understand might as well be God for all you know, and the sense of wonder and awe that is instilled by gazing up at the stars night after night and trying to come to grips with what it all means would inspire in anyone with half a brain a sense of that something greater.
So, who to follow? Well, I guess this depends on where you'd like to end up. Every religion has some common elements, and I think that these speak to something universal in all of us. The parts that are different tend to flow from cultural difference between the societies that developed the various religions, so find one that suits your culture and see if it works for you. if not, maybe you need to try out a new culture - I know a lot of North Americans who are sick of Western ideals and are moving towards more Eastern ideals (largely Buddhist or Zen - and no, they are not the same thing). Personally, I think Zen is the way to go - you get to keep all the cool society-building stuff that makes you feel like you belong, without forcing people into rigidly defined roles. Plus it has a good mix of concrete, real-world values (somewhat lacking in Buddhism) with some seriously prescient metaphysical / spiritual stuff that jives really well with what modern quantuum theory is coming up with to describe the physical universe, so you don't have to worry about the kind of conflicts between religion and science tat has lost Christianity so many of it's followers.

Religion and god is an invention of humans who had limited understanding of the natural world. A "god in the gaps" so to speak. Also as a way for humans to deal with some of the emotions we have. People would rather just let god deal with their problems instead of thinking about themselves. A belief in god is an old way of seeing the world. Something we must evolve past if our species is to survive. We need to learn to think for ourselves.

i think of this might properly be a somewhat extra logical physique of strategies than organic standard Creationism. I even have somewhat extra comprehend for Christians who think of alongside those traces. nonetheless, you have yet to offer info of a God. you're mixing concept with technological awareness. Why no longer in easy terms bypass all the way, and leave the God area out of it? you're in easy terms some steps far off from real atheism.

So, you believe that everything that exists - just happened? By pure chance?
Me thinks that - Nothing, yes nothing, happens by pure chance!
Prove it - I cannot! It is a matter of faith. There is always something out there - greater than us.
No where else in the known universe - does life exist. We are unique, special, unlike anyone or anything known to exist!
Evolotion --- maybe! But only by God's intervention!
There is a God! But only one!

I think god is simply a component of what we truly seek: an afterlife.
Since we are self-aware and (generally) intelligent creatures, we hope to survive even death (oxymoron).
It's all a product of the fact that we can't face the void....we simply can't stand the idea that we might not exist any longer.
