I know a few people like that. I think the circumstances vary. Someone may play piano occasionally, but all of a sudden lose interest and stop. Or maybe they got a piano with the intent of learning to play but never got around to it or gave up after a few lessons. Sometimes people just buy them because they add a certain aesthetic appeal to a room and its decor. One reason doesn't fit all piano owners, as you see.
