My son has been wearing a necklace since he was about 1 1/2 - 2 years old.

My three year old wears necklaces. I just make sure they are not sentimental or expensive in case she loses them or breaks them. She has been wearing necklaces for a while now. Start with cheap play jewelry.

My 18 month old has one that she wears only for special occasions. She doesn't try to pull on it or anything, she just shows everyone that she sees, LOL. But I would wait until I knew she wasn't going to pull off or lose it.

I would say atleast 5.
You would think that they can't choke on it because it is around their neck, but they can twist the necklace, then it will get tangled up, and they will sufficate.

My 3 year old wears one occasionally. I wouldn't leave it on all the time because it would get tangled in her hair.

my son's been wearing a necklace since he was about 6months old (it's a cultural one), we take it off when he goes to sleep. he's been fine with it and doesn't play with it and we keep it under his clothes when he is playing so it doesn't bounce around etc, also he doesn't play around with it and try to pull it off etc because he is used to it being there.

Well your child should be a least 10 or13 years old so you will know
that they are responsible.

Whenever they want to! I wouldn't let them wear anything too expensive...but it's not makeup or anything...so why not let them?
