We've been friends for 4months now and we've never gotten tired of eachothers company,EVER!we hung out everyday for five days once and we had fun everyday of that week. Then I got a job and things slowed down but we still got together whenever we could, and then now he has a job AND goes to college.A couple days before Valentines Day,he FINALLY asked me out and then we hung out the day after that too but we didn't get time to talk about Valentines Day and I had no idea if we were getting eachother gifts but I had until Friday before I saw him so I made home-made chocolate covered strawberrys and a cute little card saying,Will you be my Valentine? It's the best I could come up with and I haven't seen him since Saturday because he works everyday so I hope he likes.BUT,what if I give him my little gifts and he doesn't have anything for me?What should I say to him?Wow,nice boyfriend, maybe we should have stayed friends?Thats kind of mean, but that's me and I'd rather not get hurt.

Are you getting him a present because you like him or because of another reason? Don't be so materialistic, you just started dating plus if he's in college he does not have any money I promise you.

It's not what he gives you what makes him a good boyfriend! I personally, would much rather have him spend time with me than get me a present or something. I told my bf not to get me anything, but of course he did anyway. The thing is, that it's better for days like these to NOT become only about what you get materially. You will run out of ideas eventually. But if it's time you spend together, it will always be something that can't be torn, stained, or anything. Memories are worth so much more. Don't tell him anything. Tell him, it's okay, cause all I wanted for valentines was you. :] He will be happy and you will totally stand out to him for not being like other girls who are only after gifts.

Just give him your gift, if he doesn't have anything for you he will feel bad but he may remember next time. You could also wait and see if he gives you a gift first and if he doesn't you could say something like "It is Valentines day, I know we just started going out but you could have at least got me a card or flower or something for it". This will make him think. Then go ahead and give him your gift to make him feel a little bad so he will remember next time. Men never think unless you make them. Well usually thats the case.

Do not break up with him over a Valentine's Day gift he will probably feel bad and get you something cute. You are in the begining of your relationship, he is not obligated to get you something but he probably will.

There must be more to the relationship than petty gifts... But if you already ARE officially together, then I am sure he will think of something cute to give you when he sees you next. ;)

since when did you become entitled to something for the holiday???? it's just a day that can be marketed to people who want to have more things. you've set yourself up for disappointment already by expecting something. what's wrong w/just enjoying this guy's company?? or taking the initiative and doing something wonderful for him??!!
be a big girl!

Give him the Chocolate and don't expect anything in return... Next valentine' day you should NOT buy him anything. It is as simple as that. If he cares about you, he would definitely hand you something appreciative.

If he doesnt get you anything and you give him his present he will probably end up feeling really bad and buy u something anyway. Dont say anything nasty as it might ruin your relationship.
