Unless they came from an AKC/UKC/CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) registered litter and you were given a registration application from the breeder then no.
There is a whole lot more to breeding then having a registered dog...there is genetic health testing, showing/evalaution to prove breed standard, pedigree research, temperament testing, knowledge of health issues with in the breed, general knowledge of breeding, whelping & newborn care, etc.

Not every pure breed dog out there has papers. However, only CKC, WKC, AKC registered dogs have papers. If you got your dog from a non registered owner/breeder, then you will not be able to get papers. Registered breeds go so far back the dog could be your great great grandparents, it doesn't happen overnight. Sorry but that is the way it is.

Unless the parents are registered, it is impossible to get papers for your dog; that would defeat the purpose of having a pedigreed, papered dog. All reputable breeders provide registration papers with each puppy they sell (or they will provide you with all the information necessary to register your dog). They may limit the registration in order to prevent an amature from breeding a less than show quality dog.

The only dogs that should be bred are top quality animals with a proven show background or proven working background. If your dog doesn't have papers, I would be willing to guess s/he didn't come from a good breeder; s/he's more likely to have come from a puppy mill, backyard breeder, or pet shop.

I would strongly recommend getting your current pooch spayed or neutered. It doesn't sound like there's much of a chance of retriving the papers. If you are really itching to be a breeder, start by hanging around dog shows and researching everything you possibly can about your chosen breed. Eventually, you can get a show quality pup or adult from a reputable breeder and slowly make your way into the showing/breeding world (that should always go hand in hand).

Breeding is a huge responsibility. Thousands of dogs are put down each year; thousands more have terrible health problems; still more are in abusive or unhappy homes. Most of these unfortunate cases are the direct result of irresponsible breeding. Please think responsibly about it before you decide to breed your dog.

Best of luck

You didn't get papers with your dog? If the parents aren't AKC registered, no, you cannot register them with the AKC for breeding purposes.

If you've already bought a pure bred dog, you should already have the papers. They come with the dog so YOU can register it and give it a 'name' (as well as a call name). If you have the dog without papers, then ask the breeder for papers. If they don't have papers for the dog, then it's almost impossible for you to get papers. The dogs parents, grandparents, etc ALL have to have papers. (from the AKC)

In order to get AKC papers all of your dogs ancestors have to be AKC registered.
If you have an AKC transfer paper from where you bought the dog fill it out and send it in to AKC.
You will be able to breed the dog if it was sold to you with full registration you will not be able to breed the dog if it was sold to you with limited registration.
Remember before breeding check out you breed standard and health requirements for your dog.
Hope this helps

the parents have to be registered.thats how it is with akc dont no about ukc.if your dog didnt come with papers ther is a reason. if you simple lost them you can get copies through akc for a fee. they wont just let you say hey i want to register my dog so it can have pups. theyll frown upon that. ther isa reason to be registerred. anyone can trace back your dog and see its parents or lineage. ugg im stopping cuz im tired. and i dont want to be sound mean im not like that. i say dont breed. someone else will probably finnish what im thinking sorry.

they are either born registered with the AKC or not, the AKC does not register dogs to breed who are not given clearence from the breeder, they will give you a indefinite listing privelege, to compete in non-comformation events, agilty obedience etc, but the dog needs to be nuetered.

Any registry who will just give you papers is not worth registering with.

A yorkie poo can't have papers because the go shouldn't be well-known by means of the akc or any other registry yet. I say yet considering that the pet registries now recognize puggles and different fashion designer breeds. The price you pay for the combo is up to you if you wish to have the canine. That you may try to negotiate with your pal, however she has the proper to promote the puppies for something she needs. There are quite a lot of people looking for the small fashion designer breeds, whether or not you're or no longer.

Legitimate papers are given and filled out at the time you purchaced your puppy.Otherwise you have a non registered dog.No way you can just "GET PAPERS"Sorry Next time if you are ever cosidering a registered pup ask that question first and do not leave or pay without papers in hand!
