Not yet, Singapore Airlines will be the first to take delivery, at the end of 2007. The A380 is indeed very big I saw it when it arrived here in November whilst on its Asian tour.

Singapore Airlines plans to use its first aircraft, in a 485-seat configuration, on its London–Singapore–Sydney (the kangaroo route) service. The airline has not given a specific date for its entry into service, though the latest updates state the end of 2007. Subsequent routes for Singapore Airlines may include the Singapore–San Francisco route via Hong Kong, as well as direct flights to Paris and Frankfurt.

Qantas has announced it will use the A380, in a 501-seat configuration, on its Melbourne and Sydney to Los Angeles routes. Air France's aircraft will be used on the Paris to Montreal and New York routes.

The Airbus is not in service yet but it will be late this year (2007). It will be bigger and therefore have a larger passenger and cargo capacity than the Boeing 747. I would want to see it because I heard its HUGE

Not yet - sometime in the 22nd century maybe!

It's been beset with delays due to engineering (wiring) and political (boardroom) problems.
It's quite a challenge having politicians involved - each country (Airbus had 4 member states through parent companies EADS, now 4 after BAESystems' (UK) sale of it's stake) has it's own interests......but it's getting there!

A good website is flightglobal.com

Singapore Airlines will have the first one in operation.
It will start service between Singapore and Sidney, Australia in October 2007.

Lufthansa is the next one, and I understand they will be starting in December, but I haven't heard which route yet. They will be doing route-proving flights in June (I think that's right) between Frankfurt and New York and into Washington DC.

Not yet, however it had a trial run with Co employees to Singapore.
Airbus is about three years behind schedule and is now facing many cancellations, some 40 plus orders already are gone down the drain. . . .lost to Boeing-787
