a busy bird is a quiet bird. A sleeping bird is a quiet bird. An eating bird is a quiet bird....
Make sure she had a lot of interactive toys. Toys for eating, toys for preening, toys for chewing, toys for swinging...
Offer her a lot of food choice....pellets, a little sees, fruits, veggies, treats, millet
Make sure they're getting 12 hours of sleep.
the key is to keep them occupied. Sometimes, just talking back when they call will get them to quiet down. they just want to know you're near. It is natural and impossible to have a quiet bird. MOST are loud becuase they are communicating. It's how birds greet, interact, and contact flock members.
When they chatter, talk back for a while. If they can't see you and you hear them screech, call back so they know you're near.
Like I said, it is impossible to have a quiet bird...but with a lot of toys, interaction, food, and rest, things should be a little less loud around your house.

A cockatiel can be persistently noisy, especially if it knows that its owner will come running every time it kicks up a racket. There is a difference between a cockatiel that's vocalizing normally and one that's vocalizing to get attention. Of course, you want to give your cockatiel as much attention as possible, but there will be times when you will want your bird to play independently, without expecting to be on your shoulder all day. A dark cage cover works well to quiet a noisy cockatiel, but it should not be used during the day for more than ten minutes at a time. But a cover only treats the problem, not the root of the problem. Try to find out why your cockatiel is screaming or vocalizing loudly. Perhaps something is frightening it. Perhaps you've inadvertently trained it to scream every time you leave the room by reinforcing the behavior by returning to the cage and talking to or playing with the bird. Look at your actions and see if the persistent noise is a result of something you've been doing.

Since the birds are apparently noisy, they are probably both males. Try turning the TV on low or some music. They like some interaction. We have 4 in our family room and cannot watch TV unless we cover them but that seems to work. We use a comforter. Sometimes we use a spray water bottle but other than that, we are used to it. If you think cockatiels are bad, try living with 2 umbrella cockatoos and an amazon as well. Our house is never quiet.

If these birds have food, water, adequate area in which to play, daily exercise out of their cage, you're spending at least an hour playing with them daily, and plenty of toys, then they're just being loud because they know that they're going to get attention, whether negative or positive, when they making noise.
My birds behaved in this fashion and, I know this sounds kind of mean, but it's not. I put a spray bottle filled with tepid water on a very light stream and, when my two birds are being unruly without cause, I spray them while making a "shh shh shh" sound, so that they associate the "shushing" with the unpleasantness of being misted by water. You only have to do this a few times before the only thing you have to do for quiet is go "shh" and the birds will quiet down. Good luck!

Do you pay attention to them? Just talking to them outside their cage might help. If you don't pay attention to them they will continue to be loud. Birds need to be out of the cage every day and have their wings clipped so you don't have to chase them. They also need their water not only changed every day but the beaker cleaned. I had one bird that had a loud and squeaky pitch that killed my ears. The main reason why is because I wasn't home most of the day. Now that I'm a stay at home mom they seem to respect my presence more. Play soothing music too. Birds love that kind of stuff. They also like people that relax.

Cockatiels are very intelligent birds. They need more than 2 hours a day of attention. I would suggest you play and talk to them, however strange this probably sounds, and if they get out of hand, put a dark towel over the cage. just love them and show you care as well as the towel thing, even though you already tried it. they also might be restless, let them out to fly and walk around

A SICK AND UNHAPPY BIRD IS A QUIET BIRD. if you wanted quiet animals you should've gotten goldfish. birds are noisy, it's the way God made them. i would suggest you finding a reputable bird rescue in your area that can find a responsible home for your poor birds.
i would also suggest that you DON'T BUY PETS WITHOUT RESEARCHING FIRST!!
