I wish we had that problem. We have a dog that refuses to shush. I was told the easiest way to teach her to be quiet was to first teach her to speak, then teach her to be quiet. She learned the "speak" command really easy. It's the "hush" command that she just won't do.

My dog didn't want to "speak" so when she' bark I'd say "Holla" (as a joke~ I don't really talk like that.) I think she liked that better because she'll holla on command.
Also, this is the same dog that refuses to shake/give paw~ but she'll jump up to give a high 5.

oh, you don't want advice on it... no problem.
lab/springer wont swim or retrieve, another won't weave or sit on the box, but will roll over and wave her paw at the judge, one won't "stay" for the life of me, but will scoot forward in the stay position until he is at a front "lie" ,and the last one will always, and I mean always sniff anyone and everyone's crotch no matter what I do. I think he thinks its a game now.
When I answered this the first time I had just discussed putting my older aussie down with my hubby (dysplasia and aggression) and was not quite paying attention, just trying to distract myself a bit. Sorry for the unwanted training tip...

Actually yeah. Mine is not interested in fetching. She likes to play catch but wants you to chase her down when it comes to getting the ball. And when it comes to tricks she does everything except shake. She hates it. When we ask her she throws her paw over her face and then walks away.

My sheepdog wouldn't speak on command, but if I whistled the theme from X-Files, she'd sing right along. Any other song, and she won't sing or talk. Go figure....grin

My male dobe WILL NOT roll over. Sit, down, crawl, speak, shake, sit-up, balance a bone on his nose, ring the bell to go out, just will not roll over.

My friend has a dog who will do anything, very eagerly. When you say "introduce yourself" He will raise his paw up to shake your hand. And he can say 'i love you' on comand (though, you do have to have a bit of an imagination to hear 'i love you'). But he will not rollover. We have been trying to teach him forever, but he just can't do it.
