Yes- they have a lot more power to form cults, and take (financial, emotional) advantage of people who came for help in the first place.

No football stadiums and the worship of athletes Greatfull dead concerts and the groove of the music I have never been to a mega church but I suspect there is something sublime about it.
What scares me is that People still after so many after school specials and very special episodes people are still BIGOTS and can group ALL Christians into one category.
If I said do MEGA temples scare you YOU would think I was a NAZI of course you would so the logical conclusion from your question is that YOU are a bigot. SO you scare me more then they do at least there phoney and are trying to pretend to be good your just right out there Bigoted.

No, and yes. If that many people are going to them, they probably have a watered-down version of christianity or may be stearing clear of talking about things that might possibly scare people away. So, if an impotent version of the gospel is being preached, then it might not be helping them as much. However, their appeal may be to mostly newer converts who are still learning the basics of the faith. The more Jesus taught, during HIS earthly ministry, the more you find that eventually more & more left Him, unable to take in His teachings, which not only included the nice stuff but also the difficult things like self-control & the sufferings the disciples might face for following Him.

hmm...well, they are not my preferance but I do attend one particular one on occasion, but I wouldn't call it my "home" church. I know however that a lot of good can come from these mega churches. If any church brings people to God, it's doing something good. I tend to believe the way C.S. Lewis explains, that different churches reach different people depending on what stage of spirituality or their stage of relationship with Christ is. A lot of the time mega churches are geared toward youth and new Christians. Those that have been a Christian for a while may at some time become "ready" for a different church.

They can be good or bad. Typically they are great evangelizing tools and awesome for youth groups and new Christians. Sometimes they are great vessels for the Holy Spirit to show himself through signs and wonders. They also connect people for common causes such as outreach, charity, and beat back liberalism.
Some can be bad though. Detroit has the first mega-mosque...Thats scary.

Yes! And I'm a Christian. Not all churches are good and not all people calling themselves " christians" are the right people to be around.

Yes they do!
Our local "Fort God" as it's called, is ridiculously huge, has too much control over local government, has corrupt financing issues, and is harboring a child molester. What a pillar of the community.....

Depends on what they teach. If it's the gospel then I love it. If it's the "name it, claim it" theology then I would not darken the doorstep.
