like if you want a ring how do you tell your bf without saying the words "I want a ring"

You are appoaching this all wrong. You DO ask for what you want in life. Why do you think you need to skirt the issue? Don't you believe you deserve it? You will not get what you want in life if you don't learn to ask for it.
Talk to him about what you like, bring up a ring and tell him you would like one. I assume you want it as part of the relationship? Do not be demanding about an expensive item if he does not have the money for it though, be reasonable.

and give him a picture of ring you want and say this is what i want (just to help out)

if you want a ring, buy it yourself. when and if hes ready he will get you the ring you want. if you push it then its not what you both want and need, relax. unless you want to commit to someone that ist ready, or better yet buy him a ring and "cowboy up"
