Good luck with that. Most small dogs have a hard enough time with body heat regulation, and are even more uncomfortable in different situations. Your best bet is buying pet pads. They can be placed inside or outside, they absorb 100 times more then news papers, they are waterproof on the bottom and you just throw them in your washer, and they clean right up. I have used them for years for puppies as well as training apartment dogs. Good luck.

I've actually been having this same problem. I have a three pound chihuahua that hates snow. Everytime I take him out side he just wants to come back in. I finally just had to shovel all around my tree and set him there. It was the only way I could get him to go outside. Good Luck!

I have a small beagle and right now we have snow that comes up to her belly. What I did was shovel a path from my door to the grass then I shoveled thru the grass and then shoveled a spot for her so she could walk to the spot to do her 'duty' a bit easier. It was a little extra snow shoveling...but it was worth it for her not to have to have the cold snow right on her belly.

Good luck! I wouldn't want to sink either. How about taking him under some trees where the snow is not so deep or either shovel a potty area for him.

Try shoveling the snow. He doesn't want the snow to touch is peepee it probably freezes it. So try moving the snow or buying some puppy pads and letting him do it inside.

As backup, put papers down on the floor in the bathroom, sooner or later he will go on it, ( I hope) we had same problem when snow piled up against our back door and patio, hubby had to shovel a place for our mini doxie to do her business.........she wasnt happy with the deep snow, no place to go!!!!!! best of luck, S.T. from oHIo
