So many people proudly decry exclaim the virtue of "faith likea child". Everyone eats it up, maybe because we immediately imagine a innocent child and the puriety of his well-intentioned faith. Its seems so emotionally profound on its face, we dont even bother to run it through the thinkmill. I know I didnt, for some time.

How about we consider this now, in a rational way, outside chruch or head-nodders. Why would God want this? Doesnt this sound more like something a religious leader wants or a autocratic politician, obedience, faith, unquestioning agreement.

Whats so virtuous about this, now that you have time to think about it logically. Certainly there is reason for doubt, yet we are told to cast away our senses and critical thinking skills, as if they were bad things.

Look at it this way. Suppose God does exist. Is it possible he could love the critical thinker more than the blind follower? How do you feel about blind followers, like suicide bombers? They impress you?

First of all no Christian has been a suicide bomber. We have very little in common with Islam. Having faith like a child is trusting. It doesn't mean we don't think. How insulting! I am sick and tired of you fools saying we don't think. Like you have some kind of monopoly on thinking. How much do you think when you readily accept the faulty theory of evolution and your pal Darwin. Talk about a head nodder.

I'm sure you're familiar with the child that you tell to do something, and you get the never-ending response of " why?"

Child, get out of the street!
Why?
Because you're going to get hit by that (splat)

As far as suicide bombers go, they aren't following God. They are following a man who they believe stand believe them and God. Of they had the opportunity to read up, most of this wouldn't have happened ( hopefully )

Not a God who is Perfect....for perfection MEANS completeness. Unfortunately the god of the bible is ANYTHING BUT PERFECT. He is a vain, jealous, egomaniac who needs worhsippers to fall on their faces in the dirt and kiss his clay feet. No different than any of the mythical gods who preceeded him. What possible need could a PERFECT God have for the smell of 199 slaughtered and burning animals????? Why would a PERFECT God have to promulgate 632 ridiculous proscriptions to keep his 'worshippers' in line??? What kind of PERFECT God needs to have his followers Kill, and Kill, and Kill, and Kill....until it becomes sickening to even think of this monster as God????? Could anyone with a conscience want to spend even one minute in the company of such a monstrous god, let alone an eternity?????

Faith like a child means God wants us to TRUST Him as our children trust us as parents. Remember when your little one was two years old and leapt into your arms from the top bunk bed without a doubt in his mind or hesitation as to whether or not you'd catch him safely in your arms? That's all God wants from us. TRUST that He won't let us down...and ya know what? In the almost 17yrs since I've known Him personally, He's never let me down ONCE!!!

Btw...just wanted to let you know that you are quite arrogant and insulting!

Christ is the shepherd, and we are the flock. We are to follow God with an unquestioning faith, knowing that whatever God tells us to do is righteous.

I don't think that God wants mindless sheep, however I believe that most religious leaders desparately want their followers to be mindless sheep.

Children and sheep are not exactly similar.
You may be referring to Jesus when he said: Let the children come to me ... because children (mostly) can only love and not hate.
