I wouldn't keep it for much longer than a few days. A week is definitely too long. Cheese kept in the same manner could last for a little longer, but I wouldn't push it.

If it is from the Deli then about 5 days per the Deli workers. If its boxed then until the experation. If it doesnt look good throw it out. I have opened a package of lunchmeat that was bad.
