if you insist you might try disabling your firewall completly, but that puts your computer at risk for viruses. I would just get XP Pro installed and forget vista if your going to be using pirate programs.

Many will tell you that you need to uninstall McAfee on Vista to get Limewire to work. The fix is this:
Click Start
Click Run
Type "services.msc" and click OK
Scroll downwards until you see McAfee Redirector Service. Right click it and select Properties
Set "Startup Type" to "Disabled" and click "Stop"
Click OK and close the Services window

Vista is about 6 months ahead of its time. I had it on my laptop and switched back to XP Pro because of similar problems, in about 6 months I suspect all those Vista bugs will be fixed...
Good luck..

Sure... you need to download Lime-Wire Beta 4.13.0.
after you install it you need to open the firewall for Lime-Wire on "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" (type this on start search) once there click on Inbound Rules, look for lime-wire rules and lick properties on right side menu. on General Tab make sure you have the "Allow the connections" checked go to protocols and Ports tab and make sure you have "TCP" on Protocol type and "All Ports" on Local and Remote ports. go to Advance tab and under Profiles check the Public box, and click apply. Make sure you do the some for TCP and UDP Protocols
Need more help feel free to email me...

your computor has more sense than you .
lime wire is great to start of with then it takes over your browsers ,and dominates the modem so that other users become isolated and can not browse
and i am sure it has send all the contents of your computor abroad by then
when you try to get rid of it it has burried itself in the hikeyclass roots and is imposible to find
in the end it destroyed my hard disk and i had to replace it
this has happened to various people
check who own it ,it is almost impossible to discover but many people are sure it ends up with the illuminati
