The best way I have learned is to use lotion with Aloe. This will help to keep your fingers and hands moisturized to reduce cutting.

Wear gloves when outside in the cold. Until the cuts heal, apply Neosporin at night and sleep in warm soft gloves. Then try CornHusker's Lotion. Of course Vaseline is cheap and effective too.

Neosporin or similar antibiotic ointment to heal the cuts, and use a heavy duty moisturizer every day to prevent the cuts in the future.

I also used to get small cracks in my skin during the Winter Monthes.
I bought something called BagBalm for the pads on my dogs paws and when applying it on the dog found that it was helping my cuts as well. It was originally used to treat cow's udders-(bags) but it's now sold in most larger stores like Wal Mart- it contains an antiseptic wich is great for keeping your cuts germ free.

i used to have a lot of finger cuts from the harsh weather,
but when i used vaseline intensive care,
it subsided the cuts.
it works for the whole body too!
use it everyday after taking a bath or shower.
it really works when your skin is still a little bit damp.
not too wet or damp!.
just a very, very, very, very little water in your body.
like a quick sprinkle from the rain.
trust me, it really works

Wear gloves when you go outside and rubber gloves when you wash dishes. Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) although greasy is an inexpensive effective way of curing the problem

Lots of lotion or hand cream. It comes from the dry winter air drying out your skin.
