Now that I'm a Mom...
My biggest regret is judging other parents, before I was one myself. I never understood some things parents did or said to their kids... now I understand!!!

The biggest lesson that i have learned since being a mother is pick your fights, the small stuff doesn't matter that much. Remember that when you were a kid you wanted and did a lot of things you shouldn't but you a very unique and great person. We all make mistakes, just make sure they count by not making them again.

The biggest lesson is that things can not always be my way. It has been a hard one for me. We went to disney and nothing went the way I wanted and I hated it. The kids remember nothing but a good time. I have had to think about how they want it to be and what they will remember from it. My idea of perfect is not always right!

My kids are not children to be raised, they are adults-in-training to be taught. A lot of things my parents did that I thought were stupid, were, and a lot weren't. My parents demanded obedience, I didn't see the point, and I still don't. I does not matter if my kids can sit down and shut up, I want them to know when and how to stand up and shout, and when to negotiate, and when to stand back and listen, but never sit down and shut up. I want them to always be ready and able to deal with whatever life throws at them. I have learned that the best thing I can do is to teach them how to live for themselves, to think for themselves and to have the self-discipline to live well.

So far its been patience.. and that true love is real! I have never loved something as much as I love my two sons (8months and three years old) I would do anything for them and feel so great when they are laughing and having fun.. oh and I agree with person above I have a new respect for early mornings...haha

Don't be to overprotected, don't be to under protected, just find a happy medium.
Also just let the grandmothers and grandfathers in their life just spoil them as long as its not over bored!
