Some of the greatest people who ever lived came from the worse possible beginnings. There are examples of crack babies that have grown up and became literal saints among us, we don't know who they will be and should assume each one of the
cast offs will become a great leader

House is a great show, isn't it? I have the season 1 DVD, and that is one of the best episodes. And in the conversation you have qouted, I agree with the good doctor 100%, although I tend to be a little more tactful than him. But I feel like being a House-like jerk for the moment, so I'll just say the harsh truth as I see it:
Faith is an irrational assumption and should a source of shame, not pride.
ALL love is conditional and based upon what people get from each other. Unconditional love is for fairy tales and fools.
Birth is not a miracle. Rather, it's like God chose the most disgusting, painful and torturous way of birth he could imagine. It's hardly ideal or glorious.
If I'm gonna believe in God, then he needs to get up off his cloud and prove himself.

Let us answer each of these in turn, shall we?
1) Faith is not a word for ignorance, but of understanding. I understand that X is true, and I understand not that I DON'T understand it, but that I CANNOT understand it. It is not the giving up of learning, but the accepting of fact that is beyond my learning.
2) Astronomers believe in dark matter, which is defined as matter that is not detectable by our means, but MUST be there to explain the universe. I don't know about you, but I call this "faith."
3) God is not merely asking for our trust. He is all deserving of it. He asks so little of us....just love Him. He created us and the planet on which we live. He gave us food and shelter, knowledge and strength. All He asks in return is that we love Him back. He earned this by the fact that we are here. He does not have to earn anything beyond that, even though He has provided much, much more.
4) I have no difficulty believing in God.
5) See answer #1.
6) True that.
7) The miracle of a crack-baby is that we, as a people, look to that and still see him or her as a baby. The miracle is that people will step up and care for this child. The miracle is that this child will grow up and have a chance to be somebody. Sure, the 'mother' who abandoned the child is scum. But the miracle is the child.
8) Love is trust, as you alluded to earlier. Love is not, however, always a two-way street. You may be more likely to be killed by the person you love. This has been true since the days of Cain and Abel. But he who has much, has risked much. Love is worth the risk, my friend.

Well I find your choice of roll models interesting. A man who hates the world because he hates himself and speaks from pain.
"Well if you want to go through life with that attitude go ahead but ask yourself Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy"
The miracle is that It awakens compassion IN YOU for that child. the miracle is that you have that ability You could help that child you could help that mother. If you have compassion. The miracle is that after 500 or so billion years all the endless life forms YOU are capable of compassion.
House on the other hand and many nonfictional people go around acting like reptiles. Eating anyone who is weak.

Yeah, but what did that baby do?
There is still miracle and wonder in life, even with the horror and iniquity surrounding it.
Just because the baby is sick and has a fu*ked up mother doesn't mean that baby's life is less an awe inspiring wonder of nature.

Your quoting a Atheist TV character, A word for ya: LaLaLand.
If you can't see the miracle in life, any life, you must be blind.
Perhaps you should try turning off the TV and getting out into the real world.

I Believe in God.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Heb. 11:1). It is synonymous with trust. It is a divine gift (Rom. 12:3) and comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17). It is the means by which the grace of God is accounted to the believer who trusts in the work of Jesus on the cross (Eph. 2:8). Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). It is by faith that we live our lives, "The righteous shall live by faith" (Hab. 2:4; Rom. 1:17).
As far as the crack addicted baby......Our Creator knows all, He knows how He will use the baby to save another soul. It's not up to us.
Can't wait to go to Heaven and be able to talk with Jesus, we will be enlightend.
God Bless.

Ok.. I believe in God, and we may not see him but i know he is alive cause of things that has gone on in my life. but the main reason i am answering this is that crack baby you are talking about hasnt done nothing to no one. its the mothers fault!!! My youngest brother was a crack baby (my mother adopted him) this child has done soo many posive things in my family`s life he has keep my grandmother going in good health he got me ready for my sons birth cause i was never around boys and he makes everyone smile that comes around him... just because the mother done crack during pregancy doesnt mean the baby doesnt deserve a chance at life

You believe God should be held accountable for all things? Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
We have free will. We make our own choices, for better or worse. If God had us all on remote control, you would be complaining " Why doesn't God trust me enough to make my own choices?" The crack-baby is the product of some one else's mis-use of free will. It's up to us to set it right.
Best wishes.
