are there people you just decided not to be part of your life anymore? did you sometimes wonder how your life would be if they were still part of it, any regrets? im planning to really shut the doors on this girl after turning me down ..perhaps we can be friends--but maybe it will open up my wounds again....

we dont talk or see each other anymore at all...but when i saw her for the second time, my stomach ached...(plus, i get thoughts she's probably seeing someone new..is that normal too though its been 4 months since she she turned me down..funny how "lets just be friends" hurt so much--but i can tell, right now, that im healing)

It sounds like she was never in your life to begin with!

I thought you meant like me having to cut ties with a family member who molested me in childhood; or my alcoholic ex-husband who was dragging my son and myself down his path of self-destruction with him...

Obviously you are still quite young. Yes, rejection hurts. But appreciate the fact that she was honest, and that she didn't lead you on because she didn't want to hurt your feelings -- that hurts much worse in the long run.

Whether or not to pursue a friendship is totally up to how you feel. If she's really a nice person that you have a lot in common with, why not have a platonic friendship? Good friends are difficult to find. If your feelings are more driven by physical attraction and you don't really know her all that well, then let it go.

yes there are people I just decided could no longer be a part of my life, I usually have told them that I was no longer going to be talking to them unless I knew they never cared to begin with. some people just don't care if you talk to them or not and you have to live with the fact that there will be no closure. I have had a few regrets but have learned to forget them. a wasted emotion. since you no longer talk or see each other anymore, unless you just cannot help yourself and you must talk to her, I say forget her.

Well, it's not like she was mean, she just didn't feel that way about you, you should not blame her for it...
See a counselor, and if you can't forget her, than perhaps cut ties

you've been hurt man! you were rejected. just leave her. and MOVE ON, say "next!"
i remember being bold and courageous when i finally told him to stop calling, "i have nothing to do with your life..." been three years, i feel better and stronger. i deserve a better one. i have no regrets!

If you're curious, talk to her about it and ask her if it's ok for you to be friends.
