It depends on what you need.As you may know there are many new features with different ones on each version.I went to video google and youtube and typed in windows vista and watched alot of clips and have thought it is a good new system although with some very easy to fix bugs.I'd advise you to do the same and go to the windows vista homepage and learn mmore there. Also try bestbuy.com/windowsvista

Good luck

From what I see it just reminds me of OS X and if it was not for the new games coming out using direct x10 I would not think of buying Vista. It seems like it more expensive to upgrade old PC to be able to run it at it highest potential. Also from what I read on other forums many are having issues with drivers.

GOOGLE this "microsoft windows problems and issues"

If you are looking for a reliable, up to date OS - get UBUNTU. It's free and all of the programs you will ever need are free too. You can dual boot it with your current OS.

If you have 256MB of RAM get a full version. If less get XUBUNTU.
