Headaches can be a sign of something serious. Not to alarm you or your friend but he needs to go see a specialist right away. I suffer from migraines that I have gotten under control through medication and treatment of a neurologist. Sometimes an MRI is necessary. Also, believe it or not the medicine can be causing the headaches -- just a tip from my doctor. We tend to take medicine and when it doesn't alleviate the symptoms we think taking more will help -- sometimes it only makes it worse. Exercise, Yoga and relaxation are helpful. Ginger and peppermint oils can also help alleviate the headaches. You can get them at your local health food stores.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Stress could be a major factor. High Blood pressure, too. Is he eating correctly? If he lacks essential nutrients, it could be affecting him through the headaches. It is best to check with an MD.
