I followed his commandments and saw the promised blessings come into my life. I also took the challenge given by one of his prophets who lived somewhere on one of the American continents anciently named Moroni in chapter 10 of his book
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

What has to happen? Nothing has to happen. Belief is just that a belief, faith.

What has to happen to have hope? Grace? Love?

What has happened is God sent his son to save you and I, everyone that DOES believe in him. Everyone that accepts him as their savior and repents of their sins.

Nothing has to happen except this tiny prayer:

I am a sinner, I repent of all my sins. I ask that you Jesus come into my life and set me free. That your will be done in my life and that YOU guide my path. I believe you are the savior and the only way I can get to heaven. Change me oh God, make me new. Show me your will and help me to change my ways. I thank you for your son who has paid a debt I couldn't pay. I thank you for my salvation and for my name that is now written in the book of life. Thank you and I pray this to the almighty God in his sons name Jesus, AMEN.

Mean it, live it, read it. Work towards progression not perfection. Perfect Grace died over 2000yrs ago on the cross.

God Bless

Miracles, Signs, Wonders, seeing people get healed literally. Going to the mountains and seeing God's majestic creation.

Most of all I was trying to live life my way. But my way wasn't working. Sin is like candy. It tastes sweet, is enticing, colorful, fun etc. But once you get into it deep and have too much, it makes you sick. The devil uses alcohol and drugs and partying as a commercial to get you involved, but eventually it sucks you in.

I do prison ministry and almost everyone in jail is in there while doing a crime intoxicated or drugged up.

I love the peace I feel when I know that I am serving a God that is always in a good mood and willing to forgive but is fatherly enough to convict you and bring you to your knees to find repentance so He can build you back up in his image. One that will upon asking fill you with His Holy Spirit and use you in mighty ways. GREAT QUESTION!

God or Gods or Goddesses or a Goddess something had to start up this thing we call the Universe. Wouldn't it be hilarious if we find some day this whole universe, including us, was some entity's failed experiments in a cosmic trash bag.

If you're talking about the biblical god, the Christian god, do I have to believe in talking serpents to believe in him? Do I have to believe in Satan? Do I have to believe that God stopped the Sun in the sky so that some human beings would have more light to kill other human beings? Do I have to believe all of that to believe in God?

First you would have to listen to that inner knowledge that you were created with, that little bit of faith that was instilled into each and every one of us.

The more you supress it, the harder it is to listen to it. (read Romans for more about this)

After you truely believe, it does not mean all questions go away, it does mean that you start diligently reading and searching Gods word for your answers. You begin to rely on God and his wisdom more than your own thoughts and desires.

This is a life long process and you really do not want to get started to late. You will find that you stop molding God into your own image and start molding yourself into his.

just look around you. What keep you alive? Who created the animals, trees, mountains, the sun, the moon and all other living or non-living things. It just cannot appear out of nowhere.

I'd have to lose about 50 IQ points. Or develop a mental illness that involved hallucination.

Or....

I'd need some evidence that a god does exist.
