What's the best way to break up with someone?

My relationship with my boyfriend isn't working out too well. I think I should break up with him. Or maybe at least "take a break" and get back together in a week or so do see how I do on my own. What's the best way to break up or to sugesst a break?

make sure its not over email or im or anythin like that. calling or in person ONLY!:) tell how you feel, but not too mean. you HAVE to answer this one by yourself. you dont want somebody that you dont even know telling you what to do. deep down and figure out how you feel. think of all the good times you've had, and all the bad. think if you want to continue these feelings, or be done and possibly never talk to him again? its a tough decision, yea, but you dont want yahoo people telling you what to do, i think that you probably know how you feel, and why or why not you want 2 break up wit him. just dont be TOO mean! lol

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BREAK UP OVER EMAIL, TEXT MESSAGE, OR IM! Trust me it's a totally bad way to break up. Just either talk to him in person or call him. If you're seriously breaking up with him, say this: "I really care about you, but I want to break up, etc." If you want to take a break, say"I want to take a break, etc."

Personally, I'd just want you to tell me straight.. but I guess everybody's different. Then again.. I'm not a big believer in taking breaks.. it's either 1) good.. nothin to fix, 2) bad.. but ya wanna fix it... 3) bad.. and ya want out. Then again.. I'm a freak :) lol

you need to talk to him about it. but remember you shouldn't regret whatever it is you decide on, it's gonna be your call, and you better not expect a "get back tegether" after a short break. men aren't alway like that.
