It is not contageous and I know a lot about it my sister had it and is fine today. But, I would not eat, drink or otherwise come in contact with patients or even family as far as this goes. Meaning sharing or handling and not washing my hands after. I never drink after anyone except my husband and that is because I do other things with only him too.lol There are things like hepatitis C and herpes and other things that need to be avoided and it is just good sense to avoid contact with these things. Wash hands very well with hot soapy water after handeling these utensils, if this your job and use precautions that make sense. Just for your own safety.
