I was suprised to see that so many women were answering my nascar questions. I never thought that women liked nascar that much. I'm not a sexist or whatever you call it so don't take it like that, lol.

I Have been a NASCAR fan almost my entire life. I grew up around a lot of men. Every family function racing was on the TV besides Football. I can honestly say that NASCAR is an American sport. I think that is why most of America follow it. As for the ladies lets see I am sure some are attracted to the men that drive in the cars ( ie. Phat Kidd's comments ). But , I can validate that a lot know about intake manifolds and air distribution. I think as woman we want to try to fit into our mens lives. So, we will learn just about anything to get their attention. Some of us are just lucky that we had father's, brother's and uncle's that are just sports fans. So we learned from them. So, with saying that you men are lucky to have women be interested in sports with you if it comes with an attractive guy. At least you will be watching it together and spending time together. Who knows she may even teach you something. By the way! Go Tony Stewart! We will smoke this year.

I've been a Nascar fan for three years now! You'd be suprised as to how many different people are Nascar fans. The fanbase of Nascar has diversified a lot over the years and it will continue to do so.

I LOVE NASCAR AND ALWAYS HAVE!!! Growing up a daddy's girl, I'm more into cars and trucks and airplanes than anything. I have driven stock cars and ran destruction derbys, back in the 70's, I have never lost the need for speed!!! I don't think you are a sexist, I've always just been one of the guys around the shop. I also love to build motors and trannys. Believe me, I am 100% woman, I just like being around the guys working on cars more than sittin' around with the girls!!! NASCAR ROCKS!!!

I am a female NASCAR fan and I have to say that there are a lot of other female NASCAR fans. I am friends with a number of female NASCAR fans and the majority of NASCAR fans that I found at work are all women. The population of female fans is on the rise just as the general diversity of fans as well.

OK, at the expense of sounding sexist, the reason is that most women love men. For example, I'm a Green Bay Packer fan and the ladies love Brett Favre. Almost my whole life I've had to hear, "I'm a Packer fan," when in reality they were just Brett Favre fans. So, since all the cars are filled with men, the ladies love it. I know I started following Indy Racing(a little) because of Danica Patrick.

Going to a race can also be a good family event. For the most part, there is so much seating, tickets are readily available and not as expensive as another sport. There are more activites, NASCAR does a good job of promoting to families and putting on little events for the kids. Also, it's a simple sport. Women are competitive whether you think it or not, but they don't want to sit down and learn about all the ins and outs of football because they'd much rather be doing something else, but NASCAR is easy; whoever's in front is winning, whoever finishes in front won, and a crash is a crash. My mom gets so upset when someone crashes someone else, like it's her son driving the car. By the way, I'm not a fan but my mom is.

In 1949, Sara Christian, Louise Smith and Ethel Flock Mobley ran all races.
In 1977, Janet Guthrie, Christine Beckers and Lella Lombardi ran at Daytona.
In 1982, Robin McCall Dallenbach ran two.
In the 1990s, Shawna Robinson was the last girl to drive.
It's easy for having Jennifer Cobb, Tammy Jo Kirk and Erin Crocker at the track.
