don't understand that we are not unhappy and we don't think the same way. Like, they can not step outside themselves. I can understand and try to think like them, but they can not do the same in reverse.

Absolutely! I am very happy. Leaving god behind has opened up the world in such a wonderful, amazing way. I believe that christians are simply afraid to take responsibility for their own lives. It's analogous to being a kid versus being a grown up. When you're a kid you have everything taken care of for you, summer vacations, no job, no real responsibility, you live in a simple world with forces acted upon you: parents, teachers, forced naps (I really hated those). With age comes that responsibility and although it's a lot more work being an adult would you really want to go back to being a kid or would you like to remain the force in your life? I think most people would agree that the benefits of adulthood more than compensate for the responsibilities involved.

I don't think you are unhappy.

I am happy when I sin as well. Is it right is the question.

I would like you if I knew you were considerate, caring ya know not a murderer or something.

Its not you I don't like or the atheist in you. Its the disrespect religious folks or Christians in particular receive when most of the time we are defending the attack we receive for our beliefs.

Some atheists are respectful on this forum, some Christians are absolute jerks. However, in general, read many of these questions and when you speak of God you are mocked and insulted, intellect is questioned. When you talk of Atheism, you are questioned and probed as to your disbelief and told God still loves you.

God Bless

I agree that many Christians don't understand that everyone has the right to believe what they choose without being hassled about it. The only thing that Christians are required to do is to "give a reason for the hope that they have"....when it is asked for or there is an interest.

Well, I honestly can not say I am as happy as they are because I do not have the prospect of immortality in complete happiness. I am not always depressed though like some would like to think I am, overall I am a balanced person. I can also understand them by putting myself in their shoes and participate in conversation regarding a God system.

They are incredibly deluded and they don't realise that they can survive and even be happier without the lie of God.

Perhaps it's like a rich kid who has never had to live without all the best things in life, and he can't imagine why someone would want to live like a drifter without a home (I'm talking about enthusiastic travellers who like the simple life).

Completely different mind set.

They don't just think atheists are not happy without God. They think anyone in ANY OTHER religion without THEIR God is unhappy.

Alright I'll bring the christian side to this. I'll say that every true christian had to make the choice to believe in jesus some time in there life and can remember what its like to not have him in there life. Every denomination has there grey spots, posers, hypocrites, and downright unchristian - members. Perhaps it is those bad ambassadors of the faith that steer athiests from God?

Completley. I live my life for myself, and no one else. No "Jesus" tells me whats wrong or right. i make my own descions, and I love my life because of that. True happiness is being able to be yourself...and Christians, you can do that, as long as Jesus will like it. Say your a female, and you see another female you are attracted to. Sucks for you, because God doesn't allow that.
Why would you want to live your life for someone who has put so many restrictions on you?

doesn't matter if you are are happy or unhappy, you should believe in god because you think such a thing exists, not because doing so might make you happier
