Is religion merely politics of the weak?

The insecure herd, rambling about wild eyed and so afraid of death, that truth is happily sacrificed.

Notice how the most insecure and weak among us are the most "religious"? I use this term in its broad sense.

First, if you look at the left-wing, are they not almost entirely Christian? Does their morality not mirror the beatitudes precisley? "love your enemy", "the meek shall inheret the earth and redistrubute the wealth".

"What about the evangelicals!"

The religious-right is more into the ritualism than the religious doctrines, for which they have clever and convient rationaliztions. Ask any evangelical what the bible means with its super plain "love your enemy" and sit back to an entertaining tour of human rationalizition.

In reality, the right is more pragmatic and industrious, and thus our best alternative right now.

"Oh your a darwinist, Hitler was the same!"

Simple people. One can advocate for human progress and not come close to lunatic superiority theory

Religion is politics for sheep. those who can't or won't think for themselves.It's safer to walk blindly through life than to lern, to obtain knowledge and truly live.

Yes, people need a clique to rely upon, my father without the church right now would be buried six feet under. He is weak and the church is just a group where he can be supported. So yes.

Whether leftist or rightist, both have their own weak points and succumb to their faith as succour for their fears and insecurities. We have our own unique way of coping in our own limitations. Religion, even our own personal religion (in contrast to the institutionalized one), provides each of us with such power needed for our own survival. Take away that religious instinct in us and each of us will be doomed of desperation.

Thanks, but I am not joining the religious right. I doubt Hitler was a Darwinist. The biggest mass murderers on the planet are christians....
