For bxixxv according to the Real Academy of Spain:
school = colegio (were kids go as from 5 years old)
high school = instituto de segunda enseñanza = enseñanza secundaria
college = colegio donde se cursan estudios superiores; cada una de las instituciones que constituyen ciertas universidades
university = universidad

A lot of native people would say "Comence el colegio", but this is technically grammatically incorrect because you have yet to finish high school. This is an ongoing action thus its more proper to say "I have started High School", than to say "I started High school'.
Either way, a native speaker will understand you and it will sound no more awkward than it did when you incorrectly said it in English. :)
Secundaria = Junior High
Colegio = High School
Universidad = College
