I'm Irish born and bread and know obviously that the currency is the Euro some people answered the punt which is the Irish for pounds but that was seven years ago we changed to euro like every either European country!!!!!!!!!Slán agus beanacht!

They use pounds, shilling and pence, but it is Irish pounds, not English pounds. They have their own currency.
