If you would like to try a low dander small dog I would suggest a Bichon Frise, a poodle (standards are my fav), maltese, Basenji (but that breed ONLY if you are dog savvy) havanese, etc.
here is a really nice link...

I've heard that they're actually good for asthma and allergies. That's a plus of most designer breeds, hypoallergenic. and they are mutts right now, but most dog breeds that we know today started as mutts too, take the Boston Terrier for example. White Terrier and English Bulldog mix. They kept the same qualities, so now they're a recognized breed, maybe designer breeds will be recognized somday too.

Puggles have allergy free fur!!! I have both asthma and allergies to some dogs. My neighbor has a puggle that I watch on a regular basis and it has never bothered me once. I love her!! Definately a good choice if you have either ailment. You can check out http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/allergy.htm or atleast I think that's the site. They should give you a list of allergy free dogs here. This is how I chose to get a chihuahua.

Baby echidnas are puggles. Pug/beagle mixes are NOT puggles. As soon as everyone stops qualifying these mutts with these God awful names, the sooner they'll stop selling for an outrageous amount. Okay, anyways, dander causes the majority of allergies, not hair. And yes, ALL dog breeds shed some amount of hair and dander.

They are a mix between a Pug and a Beagle. Pugs are noted for high dander..dander is waht causes allergies not hair..so they wouldn't really be a good idea for someone with allergies to pet dander.

Pugs because of their awkward nose position have very bad breathing problems.
They will often sneeze, cough and have breathing difficulties.
Cutest darn things though! :)
