I have blonde hair and don't color it unless it is just the roots, but use a hair straitener on it. Also, I use suave shampoo and conditioner in the morning. However, that is all that I do to it. I went to the saloon today and they layered it and trimmed away the dead, dry ends. I want to let my hair grow out. do I need to trim the ends so often? If so, how can my hair grow if I have to keep trimming it and what can I do to better nourish it and make it look healthier?

Don't use a hair straightener or a blow-dryer often. If you must, use a heat-protectant styling product before and a ceramic iron. I wouldn't recommend suave. You need a good conditoner and a weekly use of a deep conditioner. I like Neutrogena 60 Second Hair Repair and L'anza Dry Hair Repair Detangler. Do get a trim every few months. It will grow, you don't have to trim that much. Plus it will be way healthier. So, trim, condition, lay off the heat, and eat food that is good for your hair - like good fats found in pecans and avocados.

Have your hair trimmed every 6 weeks. Also, lay off the heating elements (flat iron, curling iron, hairdryer). Try using a diffuser when drying your hair. Use moisture rich shampoos and conditioners. Use a sunscreen made specially for your hair. When in the sun, wear a hat. Don't swim because chlorine can dry your hair out.

Drink lots of water.

Take vitamins specially made for your hair (available over-the-counter).

Actually, herbal essences and sunsilk make GREAT shampoo's for dry hair...that won't make it oily! Herbal Essences is called: Hello Hydration (in a blue bottle) and Sunsilk's is called: Hydra TLC (in the pink bottles). Also, I suggest using the 24/7 creme by Sunsilk. It works wonders. Also, don't be afraid to apply conditioner in the shower and let it sit in your hair while you finish up the rest of your shower regiment...let it soak in. Try it!

Dont trim too much, or you will never get it long. use kukui nut oil on ends and a detangling comb. dont use cheap suave stuff. you need salon products for salon results like pureology or redken something chic, ask your hair stylist for s good set.
