Are you kidding? I had the best doctor in the world and even the stick wasn't that bad. Just a little bleeding into the gauze and that was it. Took only one of the pain pills but probably didn't even need it. Good luck and don't let the apprehension scare you into pain. Mmm

I had a great experience with my wisdom teeth. I've actually had four oral surgeries (fell and had a tricycle pedal for a snack when I was four) and the wisdom tooth removal was the easiest. They completely put me under for it, and I had no pain at all. The worst part for me was that evening - I swallowed a lot of blood while I was out during the surgery and threw it all up that evening (and all over the oral surgeon's stoop when I left). I even had a hamburger for dinner that night, although I'll admit it did take me about an hour and a half to eat the whole thing! Good luck tomorrow!

Oh, what a coincidence! I just got a wisdom tooth removed about 2 hours ago, and it doesn't hurt that much.
I guess it's because it was relatively easy for the doctor to remove it, he didn't even have to do surgery. (the tooth was a little bit outside).
I imagine it would have been a lot more painful if he had had to cut through the gums.
Last week he removed another wisdom tooth and it wasn't that bad either. The most annoying thing wasn't even the pain, it was not being able to eat anything but ice cream and gelatin.
I hope it doesn't hurt that much to you!

That was along time ago for me, But I think it didn't hurt long afterwards, they usually give you some really good numming effects on your jaw first, then afterwards it wears off, then you can take some prescription meds for the pain, and it goes away pretty good with it. I know that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. :) you'll be doing that before long again!

Well, everyone is different, but when I got mine out, it hurt. I got all 4 out at the same time. I'm not sure that was wise, because afterward I couldn't even swallow pain pills. I had to drool in the sink because I couldn't swallow. My face swelled up. That lasted a couple of days then I got a dry socket. Sorry, don't mean to gross you out. But if I had it to do all over again, I would do one side at a time.

I was not awake for the surgery. After I was out of it and my gums felt irritated. I had to have a liquid diet. I took pain meds so it was good besides the irritation from the gauze.

it depends on your age. the younger you are, the easier it is to get the teeth out and the more quickley you recuperate.
I had mine out at 18, barely swelled, had NO bruising, had it done on Friday and was back to school on Monday. No problem.

Martin. I honestly believe it is better to go without anasthethia. that poke sucks. it does hurt, but the pain goes away quickly. if it's impacted, try to get him to put you to sleep during the extraction. but that poke sucks.
