I'm a native speaker (of Cuban descent) but have never taken a class, so I know what you mean by "subjunctive", and "indicative", but I dont know which ones which so i will do my best to explain for you the differences:

You probably know the regular ways to conjugate a verb:

Example:

I work = Trabajo
You work = Trabajas, etc

Well in the "other" case, you change the verb endings....

I work = Trabaje
You work = Trabajes.

This 'other" case is used when the action is not certain, of oppinion, etc (meaning its not a "matter of fact" action).

I can say...

I'll call you when I come home.

My "coming home" is not certain because it is yet to happen... I could (God forbid) die before getting home.... so....

I'll call you when I come home =

Yo te "llamare" (future tense) cuando yo VENGA a casa.

If I don't believe an action, it may still occur, or it may not... its still not "matter of fact"... so If I were to say.

I don't believe that he likes it...

Yo no creo que le GUSTE.

this special case is also used to command people to do stuff... Likewise such actions are not "matter of fact", just commands.

Come here! = Venga aca!

Work! = Trabaje!

I hope this helped.

Buena suete!

-------------------------------------

Now that the site is actually working I realized that what I posted wont help because its the "subjunctive PRESENT", your homework has to do with the "subjuntive PAST". Its the same concept (you use the subjunctive for uncertain actions, actions yet to happen, actions of oppinion, and commands) but the conjugations are different.

so instead of

trabaje (accented e) = I worked (past tense)
you say trabajara.

So ....

My mom told me to clean my room.

(command)

Mi madre me dijo que yo LIMPIARA mi cuarto.

I didn't believe that he liked it.

Yo no creia que le GUSTARA.

Good Luck.

ok well im an AP spanish student in high school, so hopefully i can try to help you =)

looking at the wkst. im guessing you're learning the imperfect form of the verbs. So in the past tense, the two main ways to go about it, is the preterit or the imperfect. the preterit is used to describe what things have happened...imperfect describes things in the past, they may have not been completed.

so for preterit...lets take the verb hablar (to speak)

yo- hable
tu-hablaste
el/ella-hablo
nosotros-hablamos
ellos/Uds-hablaron

For the imperfect it's different: cantar (to sing)

yo-cantaba
tu-cantabas
el/ella-cantaba
nosotros-cantabamos
ellos-cantaban

Im not sure if you are trying to figure out the difference between past tenses or what, but if im not helping u in the way you need it, let me know and i will help ya with w/e spanish questions you have...spanish is my favorite subject.

How can you say that. I already answered your question an hour ago. Check your answers.

I answered it the first time. This is the third time you ask for it.

You should keep on at your teacher. It is his/her duty to ensure that you understand the work he/she puts before you.
