how many mAh will i get with the 9.6 battery i made? do you like divide the amps for every battery thax

You will get 1200mAh. Not a bit more.
Your batteries are in series, therefore, its like the "Chain with weakest link" idea. so its totally dependent on EACH batteries Capacity which is 1200mAh.

Now, quite different for a Parallel arrangement. Then the mAh would be ADDITIVE so one would add up the total mAh of each battery for a parallel arrangement.

Direct electric current is similar to water current in a pipe. The voltage of each cell (1.2 volts) is like water pressure and when the cells are added in series it adds their pressure to get 9.6 volts. The 1200mAh rating is the amount of current each cell can supply and the total will be 8 x 1200mAh. As with water under pressure the actual current and the length of time that the battery can supply current will depend on the total resistance of the circuit being supplied. Crack open a faucet and there is high resistance and little current. With the valve full open there is low resistance and maximum current. At low current the battery will last longer.

A volt meter is a high impedance so it wont load the battery down, hence the high reading. The only way to test the battery with a voltmeter is to read the voltage while applying a load. That's okay if you're testing dry cells, you just connect it a to a lamp or put a resistor across it. It's harder to do it with a lead acid battery. The best way is test it with a hydrometer, you can change the acid (that's a bit drastic) and of course you could charge it up over night and test it with the hydrometer again. You can only go by the specs as to what the battery is capable of delivering. Sorry.

When you install batteries in series, the voltage value will change, not the current value.

Your answer is 1200 mAh.

you still only get 1200mah. assuming u wired them in series. ....75% sure
