you share a drink with them? I didn't know they had(have) pneumonia until they told me that they went to the hospital this past weekend and they gave him a shot of antibiotics and is taking heavy doses of antibiotics now. He's been taking them for 4 days. He didn't look or act like he was sick. He said he felt fine. Now, I'm worried . Can you catch it like that? Please help!!!

Pneumonia isn't really contagious, but the virus or bacteria that leads to the pneumonia can be. If he has been on antibiotics for 4 days and has had an antibiotic shot, he is no longer contagious for anything caused by bacteria. Pneumonia caused by a virus is best treated with lots of rest.

If you were around him while he was contagious, you were most likely exposed to the bacteria. However, I doubt you would contract the illness from sharing a drink. It is spread by inhalation, so if he was coughing around you, or breathing next to you, you could have inhaled the bacteria.

yes...especially if it's viral pneumonia... just watch yourself closely for any cough that may develop or fever or just a general malaise ...yucky feeling...

rule of thumb never share your drink unless u pour it in another cup...

Yes you can, but I think more so if they are running a fever. Hope this helped.
