CHI, CHI, CHI.
It heats up in ten seconds and a LOT of salons use them. They had a deal where you got this pink carrying case with flat iron spray, silk serum, a flat iron and hair dryer for $279...yes their products are expensive but they are worth it. Try looking online on eBay. I bought a new FHI flat iron a couple of years ago for about half price - FHI is another salon used brand. I have both of them...one is at my house and one at my boyfriends. I also have thick wavy hair and these work the best for me. Since I've been using them I have less breakage and my hair looks and feels much more healthy.
Whatever you decide, make sure it is ceramic.
You may also want to invest in some sort of flat iron spray or something like Redken Align or Straight to help protect your hair from the heat and to help hold the straight style.

Well the best one to buy and use on thick wavy hair is the ones you can buy at a beauty salon. The ones you buy at the local drugstore do work but can strip your hair of natural oils and dry your hair out. Hope that is helpful

Mmk. I like to go online and search up really good hair stuff. I always look things up before I get them. Sometimes, if you look up a good product, other viewers will rate the product. So make sure its good. Or, the next time you go to a hair stylist, ask them what kind of straightener it is. I like to go to Sally Beauty Supply's website. They have EVERYTHING. And it's all professional with some pretty good prices. But, if you want to do it the easy way, just go on ebay. They got pretty much everything you can think of on that website.

The best hair straightner I've ever tried and stuck with is MaxiGlide. I never ever bought anything off infomercials, but this one really works. I have really curly hair and it makes it stick straight. Its a little investment but definately worth it. Good luck!
