I am 14, 5' 2, and 95 lbs. I am healthy. Maybe all of your friends are just way too skinny... Talk to your mom about how you feel, and, if that doesn't work, go to your family doctor. The doctor will tell you if you are underheight, underweight, overweight, etc. He can convince your mom that you are perfectly healthy.
Just make sure that you don't take her comment personally and start not eating. It will not prove anything. Keep eating, and continuing your lifestyle as it is. There are many overweight teens in America, and you are DEFINITELY NOT one of them.
Good Luck!

I'm 5' 3" and weigh 98 lbs (after 4 kids). I've been this size since I was 14, now i'm 29. My friends who I sat with in lunch at high school got pulled into the VP's office to get asked about my eating habits. They thought I was anorexic. So I do not understand how you can be almost exactly the same size as me and someone think you can stand to lose a few. DO NOT go on a diet. Maybe you eat too much sweets, but that doesn't mean you need to lose weight. Maybe she meant you just should eat healthier??

First of all, your mom as a good mother should not be telling you to lose weight just because your friends look skinnier. Secondly, at your height, that weight it perfect. When I was 13, I was 5'3 and weighed 106 and was a size 1 and 3 and everyone thought I was too skinny. So my honest opinion is that your fine. Maybe even too skinny.

WHOOOO!!!!! Now that's just crap. You mom is the one that is sick here. Maybe she is the one that needs help. Honey you are 13 yrs old, and you are 5"2 and weighs 92lbs. Dear that it fine you need to lose any weight at all. you are not fat no diet is needed at all. eat and enjoy your teen years. Just don't overdo it that's all. A girl at your age shouldn't be worried about going on a diet. You should be enjoying your young life. Your mom is trying to make you into someone you are not. Don't go down that road.

Listen, do not fall into the trap society sets for us as women. Beauty comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes. You do what is healthy for you. At 92lbs you have a healthy BMI. Remember as a teen your BMI is calculated differently than an adult. Don't ever compare yourself to anyone. Your friends may develop differently in life than you. If you have concerns ask your mom to take you to a doctor. Just enjoy being a child. You only have one chance to enjoy that. As a woman, you have to worry about so much later in life.

Okay...I am sorry but unless you are like morbidly obese at the age of 13, you NOR your mother should be worried about gaining weight. I am actually shocked that a mother would tell their daughter that, especially one that is a perfect size like you are. You are by NO means fat.
Honestly, if I were you, I would go to my counselor and tell them what your mother said about you needing to lose weight. If you mother thinks that now, she's only going to get worse and worse as you get older and that could lead to you having problems with her later on in life. It's kind of like if you have a guy that is abusive.. it just gets worse and worse over time.. and so will her comments about you needing to lose weight.
It is NOT normal for any parent to say that to their child unless they are truly obese.

Your mom is wrong on so many levels. You never compare your child to other children because of how they look. You at a healthy range for you age. If you feel that you need to lose weight then yes, cut out the sweets.

you need not loose any weight. i am 5'1 and i weight 105 and i look slim with nice curves. so i daresay that you can even afford to put on a few pounds. what your mom probably meant is that your friends are way skinny and that could make you feel like you stand out. she probably thinks that being extra skinny is the new thing teenagers are doing, thats what the media is saying. but it was wrong of her to tell you something so untrue. she was the one that inflicted the self-doubt on you. but dont fall for it, you sound like you were happy and indiferent about your weight before you mom's comment. chances are your friends are too skinny and that is unhealthy. so dont worry about it, guys dont like sack of bones anyway.

Your Mom is wrong if she thinks you need to lose weight. She may have some weight and body-image issues of her own to deal with. It isn't uncommon for parents to see their own problems in their kids -- even when the kids don't have the problem at all! And when it comes to body and weight issues, a lot of people think they have problems themselves when they don't. It may be your Mom needs to talk to her doctor or a therapist about her perceptions of weight.
As for your weight, you are probably too thin. Check in with your doctor to see if she thinks you need to gain some weight.
If you're eating too many sweets (like if that is the major part of your calorie intake) you need to substitute fresh fruit and whole grains for some of that. But it surely does not sound like you need to lose any weight.

You are under weight not over. I am 13 years old, 5,2 and 1/2, and I weigh 97 lbs. My doctor says that I have a fast metabolism so you aren't unhealthy! You should tell your mom that!
