Warts? 26 of them.?

My daughter was having warts removed. and the doctor asked us if we could remember the first one she got.
Something about it being the mother, what did he mean?
He's a fast worker ,he didn't give me a chance to ask.

LOL, cute about not getting a chance to ask, Ive never heard of this, id always assumed they just spread from each other not the mother wart, if thats what he's implied.
