istalling a rev marker?

hey i giot a rev marker for my car and i dont know how to install it didnt come with directions but it has 3 cables coming from it so if you know how please let me know

Red to switched power, black to ground, other wire to distributor tach signal, or neg side of one of your coils. Of course, knowing the brand of tach and year of VW might help....Gee.
