Exercise. Keep the lights bright. Hang out with friends/family. See a counselor. If all of that doesn't work, see about medication.

Wow I like that kitten idea. A puppy sounds good, also. Try a portable cd player and a meditation/relaxation cd. Try canoing in the good weather. Cook up a recipe. 10 pushups and situps per day (and a glass of milk). These activites stir the mind up to it's natural capacity for good thought.

First u take these gloomy thoughts totally out of your mind! 2nd
you define gloomy to me, as it could be different to me, opposed
to you. I would like to help and if you'd like to do it in private I"m
willing to do so, if it's too personal so e-mail on your own accord.

I once knew that answer but lately I have been in the same boat as you. The best advise I can give is to have a good cry and get on with life...eventually you'll be too busy to pay attention to the crap running through your head.

adopt a kitten! there's nothing gloomy about kittens, perhaps it would keep your mind happily occupied and give an orphan a home. assuming you don't already own 13 cats...

Do some volunteer work. It always cheers me up and takes my mind off my insignificant troubles. Increases your feelings of self worth. What could be more valuable than helping others.
