It lowers. A floating object displaces its mass, while a sinker displaces its volume. A bowling ball's mass is much more than its volume, judging by its density, therefore, the water, which had risen because the bowling ball displaced its mass, will lower because the bowling ball will end up displacing less. I learned this in science class only a couple months ago.
